Sound Modeling with MAPP 3D Software
The MAPP 3D predictions below represent a proscenium theatre configuration of the audience seating. The goal of this sound system was to establish a central vocal system for wireless microphone reinforcement, a left and right (L/R) system for music, an upstage system for ambient sounds and sound effects, and a surround and overhead system in the house for additional sound effects and vocal reverb. Each component needed to ensure optimal coverage of the audience area. In these predictions, we look for minimal change in frequency color across the seating area, with red and orange indicating the ideal decibel coverage.

Optimal sound coverage shown for the house right audience area was provided by a Meyer UPQ-1P loudspeaker.

Optimal sound coverage of the entire audience area from a central Meyer UPQ-1P, five Meyer MM4's around the perimeter of the apron for front sills, and two Meyer UPJ-1Ps as side fills, making up the vocal system.

Optimal sound coverage for the entire center audience area was provided by one Meyer UPQ-1P loudspeaker and two Meyer UPJ-1P loudspeakers as side fills.

Side View illustrating sound coverage of House Right area from three UPJ-1P loudspeakers used as surrounds.

Optimal sound coverage from the downstage center thrust system was provided by three Meyer UPJ-1P loudspeakers, each aimed at a different audience area.

Optimal sound coverage from two Meyer UPM-1P loudspeakers pointed directly down at the audience area.
