Sound Modeling with MAPP 3D Software
The MAPP 3D predictions below represent a proscenium configuration, with the audience seated on the stage facing upstage. The goal of this system design was to create a hemispheric surround system, using the space behind, beside, and above the audience to place loudspeakers, localize sound, and allow music and vocal effects to fully encapsulate the audience. Since the speakers could be used as part of a system or individually, it was essential that each one provided adequate coverage on its own. In these predictions, we look for minimal change in frequency color across the seating area, with red and orange indicating the ideal decibel coverage.

Optimal sound coverage shown for the audience area was provided by two d&b Q10 loundspeakers serving as the main Vocal System.

Optimal sound coverage of the audience area from the House Left rear surrounds, from four Meyer UP Junior loundspeakers.

Optimal sound coverage of the audience area from the loudspeaker, Onstage Surround #6.

Optimal sound coverage of the audience area from the Stage Left onstage surrounds, from four Meyer UPJ-1P loundspeakers.

Optimal sound coverage of the audience area from the House Right rear surrounds, from four Meyer UP Junior loundspeakers.

Optimal sound coverage of the audience area from the loudspeaker, Rear Surround #8.

Optimal sound coverage of the audience area from the Stage Right onstage surrounds from four Meyer UPJ-1P loundspeakers.

Optimal sound coverage from two overhead Meyer UPM-1P loudspeakers angled down at the audience area.

Optimal sound coverage of the audience area from the loudspeaker, Rear Surround #4.
